My quick release hasn't ever been very smooth to insert the camera into, so I purchased a new (used) one from KEH.

I wouldn't say it's difficult to insert the camera into (not easy though)-- it's clearly not as smooth/fluid as the one that replaced it. The first half of the show inserts easily, then you just have to push the camera a little more to overcome some resistance/stickiness. I think the way the spring is working is the portion of the clamp closer to you sticks out a little more, causing the portion at the front to not provide enough clearance for smooth insertion.

I got by fine the last 10 years, but I wasn't using a tripod much. When KEH offered 20% off all accessories I figured I'd give it a shot, because these things cost a ton on the auction site now.

I'd call it KEH "bargain" condition, because it's got some scratches too in addition to the difficulty with shoe insertion.

Asking $40 + shipping. It should easily fit in a small flat-rate box, but I can check to see if anything else is cheaper.

I am also selling an RMFX viewfinder.

Sold. I do still have a Lidahl quick release for Hasselblads--see my other listing if you're interested in that one ($20). I also still have the RMFX viewfinder for sale.
