It all moves well, but is well used... extends as pictured to 61" with 14" column to go.
This will support a ULF. (with proper head)... my daughter hung from the center (75 pounds) and it didn't shimmy a bit.
I used it last with a 20 pound sand-bag hanging off one of those leg wing adjusters with a horizontal column opposite with Sinar F1 pointing down shooting food in a restaurant. Unflappable versatile support when properly balanced. There are stops on the legs at top for a wider spread... one or all legs. It's ugly but not broken or bent or jammed up in any way. BTW a little wax paper rub on the legs of the Gitzos is a great way too keep them sliding. Personally I prefer the faster set-up of Bogan/Manfrotto tripods... but they have their issues too.
3/8" center screw.
That is a yard stick in the photo resting on the front leg for scale... I am 6'2 ish, and as set up in photo I am looking up to the top plate, the thing is tall. I don't have a scale... my estimate it is at least 14 pounds.
It's been my giant ace in the hole, but hasn't been used in years.
I'll let it go for
$190 + actual shipping. else it goes back on the nail in the stairwell till I need a location support for a big camera.
As pictured no head.
