I recently acquired this from a forum member, but it is, unfortunately, not what I need at the moment.
I love the look it gives, the out-of-focus areas are spectacular, and yes, it does give you the swirls.
Here's what I know, or what I was told by the previous owner:
12 inch FL
F4
That's it.
In my own experience, it covers 8x10 at infinity with slight darkening of the corners; at portrait distance, things look great.
It has a fine, velvety smooth look on film, and is quite sharp at the point of focus.
I have no stops for it, but there is a slot for waterhouse stops.
The lens' own focusing mechanism is nice and smooth.
Front glass is 3 inches across, lens is 5 inches long.
Oh, and by the way, it has a healthy-size chip in the rear element, some of which is covered by a piece of black tape.
All my exposures have failed to pick up this defect, happily, and the lens works as it should.
The flange was professionally mounted to a new Toyo-View board.
Includes non-original flange, Toyo-View lens board, and home-made lens cap (looks fugly but works very well).
Price is $875 USD which includes shipping to Canada/USA and also includes Paypal fees.
