From the back of my freezer. A total of 20 rolls of Fuji Acros. 10 rolls dated 2011 and 10 rolls dated 2012. Kept frozen since I purchased fresh. $210 plus shipping (from zip 56468) for all 20. $115 for 10. Given the vagaries of international shipping right now, US only.

$3.20 when new. So it is worth more now that it is expired? Ok.

Let's see, 20 times $3.20 is $64. After you buy 20 rolls of Acros 120 for $64, let the rest of us know where you got it. A Leica M3 sold new in 1960 for $300 - anyone have one for sale at that price?

If you think I'm misrepresenting something, fine - go ahead and comment. If you don't like the price, move on. No one is forcing you to buy. (I suppose I'm violating the "don't feed the trolls" rule.)

calling ic-racer a troll is ... just ridiculous ..

I think ic-racer is referring to what the film cost back in 2011/12, assuming that is when you purchased it and at that price. I can understand your asking price if Acros was no longer available.... like it was at one point.

Things do tend to go up in value the longer you hang onto them, and some films are on that list.
Have you seen what people are asking for Kodak HIE now? Yes, more than what they originally paid in 1998. Imagine!
I'd like to pay $800 for a brand-new 1963 Lincoln Continental, but I doubt the owner would agree to my offer.

But it bears repeating: if you don't like the price, move on.
Don't disrupt someone else's sale. It's rude.

Yes, but the difference is, HIE is no longer made and hasn't been for 16 years. Not trying to be rude. Just wanting to understand. I hope he sells them.

So is not the original Acros. Some people may want get exactly this.

Look, I've seen original Acros sell for a premium. Maybe they prefer the look, maybe they need it to finish a project.

Or I could be wrong in my pricing. As my wife has mentioned once or twice in the last 45 years, I'm not perfect. Some times I price something too high; sometimes lower than I could. In either case, the market tells me when I'm wrong. If someone comes back to me with a reasonable offer, I may accept or I may politely decline. No one has ever been forced to buy something from me.

I don't misrepresent an item I'm selling. You'll get what I say you'll get and I ship promptly. If you agree with my price, fine. If you disagree, either shake your head and move on or make an offer. I've seen many items on this forum that I thought were priced too high. I've never thought it right to piss on someone's listing with my opinion.

I get it. But people should be permitted to question, no?
Just my 2 cents, but many of the forums I visit do not allow replies to 'for sale' ads. It avoids just this situation where someone feels the item is overpriced and a long pricing discussion ensues, essentially crapping all over the seller's ad. IMHO, it's unnecessary. Let the market speak.

  • Reason: Comment during classified ad.
The site's Classifieds rules prohibit comments about prices.
However, with some sales, and in particular when the initial posts reflect doubts about the prices asked, it is probably fair to direct a seller to relevant information.
It is better though to do that in the context of a Conversation/Private message.
To the OP: GLWS.
And to the eventual buyer, at whatever price you agree upon, enjoy your film.
