Hey everyone,

Consolidating a couple things before I move.

First up: Helios 44-M in M42 mount. Copy of the Zeiss Biotar 58mm. This thing is sharper than my SMC-M 50mm f/1.7 in the middle wide open. This one doesn't have the swirly bokeh, though. All elements in nice shape, but focus is a bit stiff and a tad "wobbly", though that never affected performance for me. I just have too many lenses in the 50ish range, and all my filters are in the standard Pentax 49mm. No case or caps. $45 plus shipping. Can include an aftermarket M42 to P/K adapter that's been modified to work smoothly for $5 more.

Next: Graflex Singer RH10 6x7 film back for 2x3 cameras. Very good condition. Later lever advance with pin rollers. Everything works great, and still has the dark slide. I just decided that if I'm going to bother with all the fiddling of LF style shooting, I want the 4x5 negative, even if I can't enlarge them at the moment.
$45 plus shipping

I would also be interested in trading for an APS-C Pentax hyperzoom (I inherited a K-X that I won't shoot seriously with, so I figure I'll just snag a wide range zoom to keep on it), an 80mm El-Nikkor, Rodagon, or Componon-S

I could also send you some $$$ if you have a Pentax 645 45mm f/2.8 or 120mm f/4 Macro

Thanks!!!

Someone needs an RH10, and someone wants to have fun with this Helios 44-M!

How about $30 for either!

One last bump. Open to trades for Acros 100, TMax 400, Provia, or Ektar in 120. Or other trades. Let me know!

The Helios should do swirlies...wide open with backlit leaves in the background, f/2, middle of focus range won't do it?

I think the 44-M is coated and it does the closest focus of the Helios line...should be a great lens. Any photos of it?

I've attached a couple photos.

No matter what I did, I couldn't get it to swirl. Nice creamy, smooth bokeh, and decently nice in the center wide open. However, this is a much sharper copy than my last one, great close focus distance, too. The only downside is the stiffer focus. Without the swirls, I'd rather have something else in the 50mm range.

I think you had some stuff in the FS section recently, too. Would you be open to trading for one of your other Takumars if you're interested?

Thanks for your offer but I've really got to get things slimmed down in the gear room. At one point I did a 50-58mm lens comparison and had 20 plus some extras that I didn't throw into the comparison plus duplicates of a few lenses. And that's just Canon EOS compatible 50-ish mm lenses.

If I didn't need, repeat NEED to get the gear stash cut way down and have a Biotar that I can't sell due to sentimental reasons, I'd snap this up in a heartbeat. I've had quite a few of the earlier preset style Helios and a couple of the later version like yours and the later is better in pretty much every way, except for number of aperture blades. Everything else, the later version does better than the earlier and is less quirky to use.

Somebody is going to get a smokin' good deal on this lens.

Thanks for the feedback. Someone needs to take advantage of the fact that I am moving and, ufortunately, really need to pare down the camera bag in the next 2 weeks!
