For sale is an 400/8 Osaka lens for 4x5" in Copal#1 shutter (black shutter with silver rim). Oddly enough - the lens has no serial number to be found on it. It covers 4x5". I do not know the exact coverage, but I would not expect the lens to cover 5x7"
Since this lens is a telephoto design, it only needs about 220 mm of bellows draw to focus to infinity. It is also the lightest telephoto lens at this focal length with weight of 500g. I have used it with my Tachihara and it was still OK (as the camera did not had to extend all the way out for infinity focus).
The lens is in very good condition - apart from very little internal dust (yeah, I did that test with LED torch) there is nothing to complain about. I can not test the shutter, but I did not experience any problems with my exposures and also the 1 second exposure sounds correct and 'heathly' (you know - bzzzzz CLICK
The lens comes mounted on an UGLY hand made (by me) lens board made out of sheet of aluminum taped on one side with gaffers tape. If you do not like/want it just throw it away.
