I purchased this 8x10 V8 sliding carriage back for my 8x10 Deardorff View Camera several years ago. I just has not been used to warrant keeping it. This back will attach to any standard 8x10 Deardorff like other backs, e.g., 8x10 to 4x5 reducing back. It will not rotate, but attaches in the horizontal position. It allows one to make 2 5x8 images on an 8x10 sheet of film. If you like, you can make exact duplicate pictures due to its design where you just slide the carriage one direction, insert the filmholder, take your picture and do the same after you slide the carriage in the other direction. It is my understanding that the composition and focusing for your image should not changed when you expose 2 5x8 pictures.
It is used, but not abused. Very nice condition, some minor nicks, etc. you would expect to find on used LF cameras and their backs.
Here are a few pictures of this Deardorf 8x10 carriage back. You can make 2 5x8 pictures with one sheet of 8x10 film or remove the divider from the back side of this unit and you use it to take 8x10 pictures.
It has original Deardorff gridded ground glass.
Note the levers which assist in removing it from the top of your back standard's holding pegs.
