SOLD - Darlot Petzval



This is a 9" Darlot petzval, imported into the USA originally by Benjamin French & Co. Approx: 9" focal length, f3.8, weighs 28oz. This has about a 9" image circle, so will vignette at infinity on 8x10, but will work for closer in. For whole plate size and less, you should get coverage even at infinity.



Glass is good with maybe some cleaning wisps (see 3rd photo). No scratches or separation that I can see. Working focus knob with all 4 screws.

Forgot to put - lens is approx 4 3/4" high, and if you did get the flange, that is about 4 1/2" diameter, so would need probably need a 5" or larger board. Without the flange, it is approx 3" diameter at the threads, so could theoretically be threaded straight onto a 4" board. But you'd need a strong standard for nearly 2 pounds.
