Custom built 6x9 wide camera with a Schneider 47mm f/8 Super Angulon lens. The lens is mounted in an indexed focusing mount (for zone focusing) and has a removable Voigtlander 21mm viewfinder. This is the fourth 6x9 conversion that I have made but first one that isn’t solid black or all silver.

The 6x9 frame is the same 3:2 ratio as a 35mm camera and the wide angle 47mm Schneider lens gives you the same angle of view that a 21mm lens does on 35mm. It makes for a fantastic medium format wide camera that mimics the look and feel of the classic 21mm/Leica combo only with a negative that is four times larger! The camera uses 120 film which gives you 8 frames per roll.

At 750 grams, it weighs less than a professional 35mm or professional digital camera. Similar 6x9 wide angle film cameras include the Brooks Veriwide or Graflex XLSW which are both substantially larger and not as well suited for travel as this conversion. This conversion is truly designed to be conveniently shot by itself or how I generally use mine, alongside a modern digital system while traveling.

Below are a couple a test frames from this year's US Open and a couple shots of the Unisphere in New York.

The camera is $1059, net, plus shipping.

WOW!

This would be a dream addition to make a stunning trio with my Fuji GW690 (90mm) and GSW690 (65mm). Scrambling now to try and sell some gear…

Yurihuta, you NEED this camera to make the 6x9 super trio.

If I hadn't just blown my camera budget I'd get it myself. I will own one of Dirk's creations someday.

Wow. I can shoot a good bit wider than that (actual 22.5 mm on 120 film -- 50 mm lens and 0.45x filter), but neither my RB67 nor my Century Graphic (plus RB67 lens on an adapter) is anything like that light and compact. No worries, guys, I can't come close to dropping a grand all at once...

Also much cheaper than a Hasselblad SWC or Mamiya 7 for similar extreme wide optical performance.

Yep (and thank you), the film is advanced with the knob on the bottom right using the red inspection window. The bottom works out nicely, it is a little more comfortable than reaching to the top.
