Hello all
In a shortcut: i bought this lens for collodion shooting on 5x7 plates. Unfortunately i have never ended my wooden 5x7 camera restoration and i have to sold it few months ago. I have never started with collodion as well...
But i still had this amazing lens so the next step was put in on 4x5 Graflex speed graphic lens board. Another problem - lens is too big and much to heavy for Graflex...
Present days , i stick with 4x5 inch format and i think i won`t be looking for something larger for a long time.
So i decided to sell this lens becouse it`s to chunky and heavy for my 4x5 cameras.
It`s "OF 233 210mm f2,5" - russian aerial lens. Some people say it`s copy of Kodak Aero Ektar lens. But what i found in the google , it`s the same optical desing like Heliar lenses.
This particular lens was using during 2WW for aerial photography with 13x18cm (5x7) camera - not like Ektars , 4x5 camera.
Has big image coverage - even for 5x7 there is still some room for movements , and for 8x10 format is a possibilty to take "knee portrait distance" shot, (or head shot of course).
It is in really nice condition. Glass is clean and clear. I can`t see any scratches. Has nice blue tint coating on front and rear elements. Some tiny cleaning marks are visible. No fungus , no mold, no separation.
Aperture ring is little loose , but runs freely from f2,5 to f32. No oil or any issues with diagram blades.
I made good quality custom flange for it and front & rear caps - nothing special , but it works.
Please keep in mind that lens is HEAVY - about 2,5 kg ( 5,5 pounds) of steel and glass.
Price: 590 $ / 476 euro + shipping + PP fees

Thank you !
