I listed this on Friday, Have had a few questions.
-Apug gets a contribution to all my shelf cleaning sales.
-this lens has no optical issues.
-I have not "restored" the lens-- I tightened knuckles.

-There is one thing some folks may say is an "issue"... the lens will start to unscrew (front stage when tourqued past
f 4.5, Aperature function is smooth like butter (it really is). Cooke was like the Rolex of the day... I played with the mechanism, but don't know how to get it to absolutely stop at 4.5.. you take it apart and play. It functions just fine as is... and we are talking long exposures and bellows extensions anyway so any bit of f stop inaccuracy can be delt with (it's all relative with every camera system anyway) <<< should be used wide-open anyway >>>
-nothing is "frozen" up, ready to mount and use... or tinker with or look at.
-yes there is some "shelf dust" on the exterior of the lens that is easily dusted off.
-right or wrong I leave this on in the photos as I don't like to oversell.
-my treasures have been sold to buyers all over the US and Europe, and I do not get complaints... again I do not over-sell.

This is a series ii cooke. I think from about 1925
10 1/2 " f 4.5! <<<<<<< don't confuse with 3.1 in "catalog" link below
-Dent is front brass filter ring.
-I tightened up the Knuckles... applied "lock tight" to the screws
-ORIGINAL FLANGE!
-settings for "sharp, 1, 2, 3"
-Approprate but slightly small (vignetts about 3/16") WORKING Packard shutter and brass stopper.
-Ready to Mount and use on your lens Board.

Asking $885 shipped in the USA 50 w/ insurance, pay pal fine!! No add ons
I think it is a good deal if you plan to use this fine old lens.

Original Cooke Publication (via CameraEccentric) says it covers WP in studio and 5x7 at infinity.
http://www.cameraeccentric.com/html/info/cooke_2.html (See Page 13)
Otherwise I will keep and eventually use.. I think $250 sittings with a few prints would not be out of the question for a talented portraiturist.

Why sell? I have a Vitax I hardly use... I just bought a 300 f2.8 for my Nikons... And it keeps collecting dust.
