For Sale FS: Complete Zone VI 4x5 Kit with 4 Schneider Lenses, Case, Tripod, Etc. $2000 OBO

Here is the ultimate 4x5 shooting kit! Everything you need to get started in style with Zone VI. Whether a raw beginner or a seasoned professional, this kit will cover pretty much anything you can possibly want to do in large format photography. It has everything except the Zone VI modified Pentax meter, and I just refuse to let that go since I use it with my 35m kit regularly. And the kit is priced to sell at $2000 OBO, if the offer is reasonable. Kit is located in Bowling Green, Ky., so if you can pick it up in person and test everything first, that would be best. ITEMS:

Zone VI Cherry (?) 4x5 camera in excellent condition (only tarnish marks on the brass but the wood is perfect). Not sure about the type of wood, but camera is in perfect working order. See the photos. There is also a wide-angle bag bellows included.


LENSES (all mounted on Zone VI lensboards), all in perfect mint condition without any marks or glass issues:


Schneider Symmar 1:5.6/180 (there was a url link here which no longer exists)/315 Convertible lens, Compur 1 shutter
Schneider Super Angulon 8/90, Copal No. 0 shutter
Schneider APO-Symmar 5.6/135, Copal No. 0 shutter
Schneider APO-Symmar 5.6/210, Copal No. 1 shutter


Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar 1:6.3/210 lens, Compur shutter. NOTE: This lens is much more compact than the Schneider 210, but much older. Wear issues, but works. For regular shooting, you'll probably want to stick with the Schneider, but this one can be fun to play with. It's really more of a "freebie" with the rest of the gear as no value is considered here in pricing the kit.


FILTERS - Assorted Calumet 4x4 and 3x3 filters, mounted, for holding in front of the lens during shooting.


FILM HOLDERS - 16 4x5 film holders, all light-tight, packed in two Calumet cases, one red and one black.


ACCESSORIES - Calumet dark cloth, Zone VI apron for holding film holders and pen, and cable release.


CASE - Everything is packed in a watertight, large, gray Pelican case and will be shipped in this for security and protection.

CAMERA BAG - A Zone VI white camera bag is also included (but not pictured).

TRIPOD - Slik Professional II (not pictured). This is heavy duty, easily strong enough to hold an 8x10, and comes with a carrying case and the quick release holders so you can pop the Zone VI on and off the tripod in seconds.

FILM - outdated 4x5 Tri-X film (two boxes). Please note that this has been frozen so should be ready to go without any fogging issues.

Thanks, Bob! I hate to let this go, but age being what it is I'm just not using it as much as it deserves to be used. And I hope to get it into the hands of a younger (or stronger!) photographer who will give it the same TLC I did, but a lot more use in the years to come. I've made some gorgeous images with it!

Forgot to mention shipping! Ideally, the buyer will pick up this kit in person in order to test everything, ask any questions, etc., but of course that is not possible for everyone. Shipment charge will be at cost and I will advise you of that depending on how you want it ship. UPS is easiest for me to use. The Pelican case is ideal for shipping and protecting the camera and lenses as shown in the photo so it will be shipped as one package and the camera bag and tripod in another package. No other charges like "handling" or "packing" or any add-ons beyond the shipping itself. I'll be very careful to ensure that the goods are packed well and shipped right. The Tri-X film is two unopened boxes and a partial box, expired in 2010 but frozen the whole time. I will throw those in for the purchaser at no charge. They should still be good, but certainly a test would be in order before using. Willing to consider offers!

Also forgot to mention that I have a gorgeous backpack that is all set up with individual storage compartments for the lenses, external bags for film holders, and everything fits nice and tidy inside for easy carrying in the back country. When I say "easy," it's not light but you can shoot just about anything with it! Let me know if you have any questions.
