RETRACTED FROM SALE.
I got this from a chap with a large collection, he used to own a photo store in northern San Diego county that shut down a few years back and he was liquidating his personal collection. I've had it for roughly 2 years and have shot a fair number of rolls with it in my time of taking care of it. Since I got a model 7 Canon, I haven't used this one aside from one roll. I wear glasses most of the time and find the 7's viewfinder much better in use due to this. I'd love to keep it but I have too many cameras that I would love to keep so I need to get some shelf space back. Could probably best be served by a full CLA but usable as is.
Cosmetics:
Moderate signs of use, bright marks in lots of places, very little brassing/problems with chrome. One corner of the bottom plate shows some deformation/rounding as shown in a photo.
Functionality:
Been a reliable shooter for me. I never use slow speeds and they've never worked on this camera. I could probably fix them now due to my recent practice so if you'd like me to give it a try before shipping out, I can. I recently pulled the chassis out of the IIb which just sold in the classifieds here and got it all spiffed back up and working, so this VT should be no problem. If there's no short term interest I will likely do that and see if I can get them all going. Trigger winder works fine, not super buttery smooth but works fine and doesn't skip or do anything weird. Knob wind on top of course is smooth and fine. Pop up mechanism there is good, frame counter works. No issues with frame spacing. Shutter may cap on 1/1000th but that's easy to adjust and may have just been due to the cold I was shooting it in at that time (mountains near Lake Arrowhead). Viewfinder was cleaned out when I first got it, got a bit dusty since then. One shutter curtain shows a pinhole repair but seems stable. I have never had any issues with light leaks but a stickler may want them to be replaced. There may be some slight separation starting in the viewfinder prism but it does not affect view. RF accuracy with a 50/1.2 has been fine, I've caused any issues I have seen on film as far as focus is concerned.
This has the cold tone/silver rangefinder patch. The auto parallax adjustment ball in the shoe works fine with the 85mm VFer I have used with it.
Last couple uploaded images are samples from this camera with the 50/1.2.
Missing:
Black ring around tripod bush on bottom plate.
$100 plus shipping cost. Paypal or USPS MO. Located in San Diego, CA 92116. Please PM if interested.
