For sale is my Canon IIF rangefinder, Canon 50/1.8 lens, and correct Canon S-42 slip-on hood.

The camera is nearly mint. Leatherette has no issues that I can find. The only wear showing on body the is some light marks on the bottom:

The camera was CLA'd shortly before I bought it, so the shutter is in perfect operating condition. The rangefinder is bright and accurate. It's a joy to use.

The Canon 50/1.8 lens is in fine shape, thought the barrel and edges show some brassing. The glass is nearly perfect; the only issue is one spot (~0.5mm) in the coating on the rear glass, along the edge. This has absolutely no effect on images.

I was able to find an original Canon S-42 slip-on hood for this lens, and it is included in the sale.

The proof the pudding's in the eating, though. Here are some examples from this rig (excuse the crappy CVS scanning):

I'm not trying to turn a profit on this sale, just recoup what I have into the setup: $300 for the body, $180 for the lens, and $30 for the hood. $510, plus shipping and PayPal fees, takes it. I'd prefer to sell as a set for now. Please PM me with any questions.

Thanks,
Scott

Okay, how about $250 for the body (that's $50 down), $130 for the lens (another $50 down) and $25 for the hood ($5 down). Total for the kit $405 + shipping/PP fees. Over $100 off the original asking price. Gotta be worth it to someone!

Body remains: $225 plus shipping and PP fees. Any lower than that, and I'm losing too much for the effort (losing $75 at this price, anyway). Any questions, contact me.

Well, hell and damnation. It's been brought to my attention (thanks, David) that there are non-original parts on this camera. Apparently the bezels on the viewfinder windows are replacements. It just keeps getting better with this camera. Now, I'm quite sure that listing the camera as a IID, not a IIF (which is much more common and less valuable), and failing to mention that there are non-original parts on a camera I paid a premium for was oversight by the original sellert. I'm confident that, like me, the camera was listed with some degree of ignorance of the specifics on the model. As Craig says, caveat emptor. My bad for being an ignorant, and subsequently poorer buyer. Now, I won't pass that ignorance on to anyone else. I'm reducing the price on this to $200. That's $100 less than I paid for it. It's apparently not valuable as a collectible camera. But it's a spectacular camera to use, produced fine results for me, had a recent CLA, and has that little flash thingy on the side. If anyone is interested in this camera, please let me know.
