Selling to fund new Nikon lenses..yes, I understand how wrong that is.

Canon F1 (new) set with lenses.

First all, this entire set is in excellent condition. I would pretty much say near mint. All pieces are clean, apertures work correctly, shutter is perfect, and body was recently tested with battery and works great. AE finder meters correctly. Hard to find a single scratch anywhere. If there's a negative, I'd say it might need new foam inside the body, but that's up to you.

Canon F1 N non metered prism in original Canon plastic case
Canon 24mm f/2.8 FD lens (with Canon front and rear caps, Canon hood)
Canon 50mm f/1.4 FD lens (with Canon front cap)
Canon 85mm f/1.8 FD lens (with Canon front and rear caps, Canon hood)
Canon 300mm f/4 FD lens. (with front metal cap and rear cap, built in hood)

AE Power Winder FN - battery corrosion in chamber, so I'm throwing this in. I think it might function with some work, but not right now.

I'll also trade for Nikon AIS and newer fast glass. Feel free to ask for pictures if you're serious, I'll try and get them up soon, also.

This is very wrong, son. Repent! Be faithful to the glorious church of Canon, for the Canon F-1N is best Canon camera ever made and superior to the profane contemporary offerings from the Nikon cult.

I, in the past, did sell my beloved Canon FD 24/2.8, 55/1.2, 135/2.8 and 200/2.8 lenses. Everything because I lusted after Nikon AI. I got the 50/1.4 Nikon, i got the 35/2.8 shift (pc-nikkor); i even got the coveted 58/1.4 lens... How wrong I was!! For I could never feel the warmth of the Canon on them. My trusty Canon A-1 was about to get sold as well, but I realized that would release the gods' wrath. Thus I gifted the camera to my sister, who was far deserving of it than me, a man without faith, a man who sold his optical friends.

For years I wandered as a lonely photographic soul, devoid of passion, just pressing the Nikon trigger and producing images, not photographs. I saw how the Nikon F3 was sinful, a portrait of the sin of vanity; all aesthetics and no soul. Some hope was found on the Nikon F2 and particularly the Nikon F; they appeared sincere and virtuous, yet they couldn't mount Canon lenses.

Deep in my soul I missed the purity of the Canon FD 24mm lens, free of any distortion, sharp at any aperture. The smooth out of focus zones of the 200/2.8 and 55/1.2... who were my main companions in producing photographs I was so proud of. The versatility of the 135/2.8 lens, always sharp, always useful. I even missed the lowly FD 50/1.8 lens, which much later I realized how it was a perfect example of perfection wrapped in simplicity and humbleness. It never got respect, always behind the shadow of the accomplished 50/1.4. Yet the 50/1.8 always delivered. A true saint of the 50mm optics.

Later I repented and bought myself Canon FD glass. What an epiphany!! The gamut of photographic wisdom appeared before my eyes. And when I found the Canon F-1N camera, i found true, divine satisfaction in my hands. For such a pure instrument must have descended from Heavens. Coupled with the 50/1.4 FD lens, it has no limits. It is really celestial.

I need another camera like I need a hole in my lens cap, but out of curiosity, how much for ONLY the body with AE finder, the plain prism, and the 50/1.4? And may I ask if the camera has all the little parts for the base plate (the ones usually lost when one straps on the power winder)?

There's a storage spot in the winder and the motor for these 3 plugs, nobody has any excuse to lose them. But so many cameras are missing them, what is the deal?! I did discover one answer: I bought enough motors on ebay to learn that people splitting up the parts for resale don't know about the hidey hole. Lots of motors come with a complete set of camera plugs ;-)

The Motor Drive FN most certainly does have a storage spot. The two smaller plugs nest inside one another, then go in the storage spot, then the largest cap screws on the hole to hold the others in. You can see it very clearly in this picture:

I forgot to mention, I'll also trade for 8x10 holders or possibly a 8x10 camera (plus cash if needed). Also looking for old Kodak Panalure paper or Nikon lenses.

Wow, thanks a lot Duncan, you know I've had my Motor Drive FN for about thirty years and have never removed that cover, once I removed it as you say I actually found a spare set of covers, magic because there are very hard to come by, you've made my day.

Ha, I knew it was a handy tip! I ended up gathering covers for all of my F-1N bodies that way...
