hey all,
Well, doing some readjusting of my equipment here. This camera has been great, but for my working style, its too much! I've used a 30"(yes, 30 INCHES) Red-Dot Artar on it with EASE, and its a very versatile studio(or field, if you have the muscle or a pack mule) camera.
Camera is in pretty good condition, I bought it from a former studio photographer who was selling their studio's contents in preparation for "retirment". So some of the photographs you might have seen 10-30yrs ago or more in Lillian Vernon, and other catalog-order companies whom they shot for might have been shot on this camera. I know, I know, not as illustrious of a pedigree as some Avedon-owned Deardorff, and no, not owned by uncle Ansel, but its worked very well for me the past year of ownership, and very well for the prior owner for YEARS of daily studio use.
In 2 of the pictures, you'll see some gaffer's tape on the bellows, both inside and outside. I put this there to keep the bellows from popping inward, into the image area potentially with wider lenses(such as a 10" WFE, sometimes even a 12"/300mm lens). This is NOT there to cover holes or tears, just to keep the "popping" from occurring, and blocking light from hitting the negative during exposure.
(3) of the knobs have 1-2 of the arms broken off. This a common occurrence unfortunately with this camera model, the plastic is brittle from years of usage, and over-tightening by dingbats who thing tighter is "better" than a snug fit. Please see the pictures to see what I'm talking about. The camera is still fully functional despite these knobs not being complete, just an FYI out of full-disclosure.
The lensboard adapter you see on the camera was made by a fellow LFF member, and has worked extremely well. It allows the use of Canham or Toyo-Field(110x110mm) lensboards.
This camera still allows the use of standard 6x6 Calumet/Deardorff lensboards, the adapter was machined to fit into a 6x6 C-1 board.
Sale includes the following:
1. Camera w/ 8x10 back
2. Lensboard adapter
3. (4) extra lensboards(6x6). All are drilled to COPAL 3/Ilex #4(~65mm dia). ***Picture of lensboards shows 3, but there are actually four*** FYI
4. 4x5 ROTATING(360degrees) reducing back(non-gridded g/g installed)
5. Darkcloth wire frame(keeps the hood up, great for showing the art director the composition on the g/g, or if you don't want messed-up hair
6. 6x6-->4x4 DEEP RECESSED adapter board. Good for using that 150mm SS XL on a smaller 4x4 board!
All together, looking for $750 + UPS insured shipping in the USA. Int'l shipping will be AT LEAST $120, due to insurance req'd on this sale, not to mention the box size for it!
Paypal(split the fees 50/50, or send it as a "gift"), Postal Money Orders, personal or cashier's/bank checks are all fine too. P/U in-person and cash payment are fine by me too.
thanks for looking
Dan
