I'm offering a Caltar-W II 90mm f8 in a Copal 0 shutter. This lens is supposed to cover 100 degrees and have a 220mm image circle, and it is in great condition. Note that the lens board in the photos is *NOT* included -- I could sell it to you for what I paid for it, but you can easily get one elsewhere for less.
According to Kerry Thalman in this thread --
Dead Link Removed
-- the Caltar-W II 90mm f8 is a rebranded OEM Schneider 90mm Super Angulon made for Calumet (Ilex) between 1967 and 1977. Given that this one is in a Copal 0 shutter, not a Seikosha, my guess is that this is a later version -- it also appears to be multicoated, but is not marked as such.
The only odd thing about the one I'm selling is that it has a 58mm filter thread, unlike some of the other Caltar-Ws that I've seen, which only take push-on filters. So that's a big plus (at least it was for me, anyway, as I use quite a few lenses that take 58mm filters). Makes using it a lot easier, particularly for black and white.
The shutter is in good shape and seems to be accurate (never had a problem with it). The f-stop lever is a little stiff, but I think this may be the way the shutter is made, as it is an older Copal.
The lens elements look great. There are some slight cleaning marks on the front, maybe some on the back, and what looks like some internal dust (nothing very visible). I've taken some good shots with this in the past, but I don't shoot a lot of 4x5 anymore, so I'm not getting as much use out of it.
I'd like to get $210 for plus $10 shipping in the continental US. Please EMAIL me if you have questions, as my notifications are not working on APUG for PMs.
