Okay, here's a project for someone.

I've got a Calumet Caltar S-II 210mm f5.6 Multicoated lens in a Copal 1 shutter -- basically a rebadged Schneider, identical to Symmar-S, covers 70 degrees, has an image circle of 294mm -- BUT, and here is the BIG BUT -- there is what looks like a combination of mold (large opaque spots) and fungus (threads) inside the front element, and the Copal 1 shutter does not work; there is tension in the spring when the cocking lever is pressed, but the shutter will not stay cocked.

Cosmetically, it actually looks fine -- from a distance of a foot or more. No scratches on either the front or back elements, and although the shutter has a musty smell, it looks good. The preview switch works fine, and the shutter and aperture blades look perfect, so I think the shutter simply needs a CLA ($50 - $125, depending on where you take it).

The rear element looks surprisingly good; I can't see any signs of fungus or mold, but there are some white specks that look like Schneideritis but could be anything -- bubbles; beginnings of fungus; who knows.

HOWEVER, do not think that you can "get by" with this lens as it is -- it may be salvageable with the right TLC, or it may not be. That's why I'm asking for $40 or your best offer.

Comes with the retaining ring, which is worth at least $10; please don't ask me to post pics of the fungus, because it just isn't worth my time. It's there, just trust me, and it is significant, not something you can ignore.

So $40 OBO plus $8 shipping in the conUS.
