I have a Caltar Pro Series 240mm f5.6 Multi-coated lens here in a Copal 3s shutter, with retaining ring. The glass looks good and the shutter speeds all sound reasonable and different.
I looked this up and there seems to be some disagreement as to whether it is a Schneider Xenar or not. I know nothing about who made this series for Calumet and what I found was pretty confusing all the way around... I've owned a couple of other Caltar lenses, and they were excellent. And I never knew there even was a Copal 3s shutter before I got this one.
Seems to me the shutter could be of use regardless of the glass. On Ebay one 3s is listed for $299 and SK Grimes wants $550 for a new one. Even the retaining ring for a 3s is $40 on Ebay... And there is someone on Ebay selling LF cells for a 3s in both 175mm and 145mm lengths, so you could make yourself an Alton Brown multi-tasker!
I saw one similar lens on Ebay, so I'll throw it out there at half that price - how about $225 shipped in the USA? Paypal and USPS money orders fine. $$ to APUG if sold here.
