As you can see, this is no lightweight tripod (in spite of the manufacturer's claim), which is bad if you're a hiker or backpacker, but good if you use it in a studio or on location reasonably close to you vehicle. That's how I mostly used it (although I did haul it on a 21-mile dayhike with my 4x10 camera ONCE, back when I was young and foolish). Because of it's ease of use (cam/rocker legs locks and geared center column), it's really fast to set up and use. It's is an ergonomic pleasure. It's also very sturdy. I used it with my 4x10 and 8x10 cameras with no problem. It was made in Italy and has that durable built-like-it-should-last-forever Bogen/Manfrotto quality. This model has been discontinued, but spare parts (if you ever need them) are still available (it's the later model with the hex center column, not the original one with the round center column).
It's not cosmetically perfect, there are a few surface scratches on the legs and other light signs of use. I'd call it excellent overall cosmetic condition and, of course, it's 100% functional - everything works as it should. I've had this forever, but it has seen very little use in the last 20 years. It's been stored inside a tripod bag in my office for most of it's life.
If you need a large, sturdy tripod, and don't mind the weight, this is a bargain. My price is $100 + shipping. Because of the weight, a local sale (Portland, OR area) would be ideal, but shipping is an option (figure about $30, a little less to the West Coast, a little more to the East Coast).
Thanks,
Kerry
