For Sale FS: Apo-Tessar 45cm (450mm f/9) Lens in Barrel

FS: Apo-Tessar 45cm (450mm f/9) Lens in Barrel - Mounted on a Deardorff 4 x 4 inch lens board. Uncoated glass. Glass has specs of dust and minor haze inside, front element has natural bloom- Lens barrel has some marks from tape residue but over-all in decent shape. Aperture ring is a little stiff but turns smoothly, one diaphragm blade is askew. See photo. Aperture scale from f/9 to f/90. Originally a process lens, has 43 degrees coverage, and image circle of 709mm at f/22. There is a marking on the lens barrel R 74.5 that indicates an interesting feature to this lens. The outer front ring on the barrel unscrews to enable mounting the lens in reverse for greater magnification than 1:1. The R indicates reverse mount, the 74.5 is the diameter of the reverse mounted barrel. Serial number 1,415,xxx suggests a 1933 date. Comes with generic front and rear caps.
