some red plastic I can put over these autofocus sensors. Here's a Chinon Genesis which a person once slipped into a box lot of rangefinders I had bought. Aside from showing a fair amount of wear, I think this camera might work fine. I'm not certain it will autofocus correctly without the missing red plastic "thing", but if you had a piece of red plastic, I think you could fashion a replacement using simple hand tools and beer.
This really is not a bad camera at all. My wife has used one of these since Chinon first released them, and I'll say it is (a) dependable (b) impressive on the autofocus ability and (c) cranks out terrific photos. Fact is it is next to impossible to get it to take a bad picture.
