I don't use these enough (or at all) to hold on to them any longer. I'm selling the following:

Canon 300mm f4L (non-IS)
Canon 100mm f2.8 macro (non-IS)
Canon 28-135 f3.5-5.6 IS

The 28-135 is brand new (really). It came with a DSLR I bought in December of last year but before the camera even arrived, I had bought a 24-105 f4L (it wouldn't have mattered anyway - my primary walk around lens for the last 6 years has been a 28-135). You can find lots of reviews of this lens on-line but my take is that it's a great walkaround lens for full frame and not bad for APS-C. The lens is reasonably sharp (not quite a 24-105, but quite a bit less than half the price) and the IS is good. Asking $325.

I bought the 100 f2.8 thinking I'd get into macro but I haven't. I think the most I ever used the lens was today, and I've now owned it for around 2 years. Glass is clean - a bit of dust but I try to avoid cleaning my lenses and I find that amount of dust doesn't matter at all (I refer you to Jim Galli for more on this subject).

I bought the 300 f4L used a number of years ago (maybe 4 or 5). It's gotten some use but I prefer to carry just a 70-200 and 1.4x TC (even though there's a performance hit) so its usually in a drawer. Glass is clean with some dust internal and external (yes, even L glass can get dust internally). Doesn't matter. Body has some marks - most were there when I got it but I've added a few. The hood has been loose since I got it - I believe there's supposed to be a friction type stop to hold it extended - it's not there so if you point the lens straight up, the hood sometimes falls back.

The glass is very clean on all three of these, but if you're going to look at them under a magnifying glass, trying to find imperfections, don't buy these. If you're going to look at your prints under a magnifying glass, go ahead, I think you'll be pleased. I'm near NYC but could be persuaded to meet within a 50-100 mile circle.

Asking:
300mm f4L $700
100mm f2.8 macro $450
28-135 IS $300

plus shipping via USPS Priority insured. Paypal preferred (gift if you like or I absorb the fee).

Thanks,
Dan

I want to offer on the 300, but the front glass replacement has me scares to death. Did they or did they not get all of the elements aligned like new. It takes time and machines to do this properly when they are built. I want this so bad, I want to offer but something inside is saying pass! If I pay shipping, can I check it our before i pay you?

The front glass on this lens comes off from the outside. The only thing that gets removed is a threaded on spanner ring inside the barrel on the front (attached using the filter threads). At the point the glass just falls out. No alignment required. As I said on LFF, it's just a protective filter. You can see an exploded view of the lens herehttp://f20c.com/stuff/canon/partslist/EF%20300%204.0%20L.pdf.
