This is q 75mm f8 Super Angulon wide angle in a Copal 00. Glass is in fine condition with just a few minute cleaning wisps and the usual dust specks. Shutter fires on all speeds including T and B and to my ear they sound correct. Shutter and aperture blades open and close smoothly and are oil free. Barrel is in good condition and a previous owner engraved an identifying number on the side of the front barrel - has no effect on performance. Has a preview lever for focusing and comes with retaining ring. Very sharp lens that covers 4X5 with limited movements.
$190.00US plus $15.00 tracked and insured shipping to Canada and continental USA.

Can you confirm me that filter size is 67mm?

Do you happen to have a size 00 technika board?

Thanks!

$190 seems to me a pretty good price, I paid over $300 to get one of these a couple of years ago and recent sales I've seen have been over $200. I recall one on the Large Format Photography Forum for about $250.

This appears to be in a standard Copal 0 (not 00) shutter like the one I have. Schneider's 1963 literature shows this lens in a size 00 shutter, but their 1967 brochure has it in a size 0. This lens' serial number places its manufacture well after that, so I believe it's really in a Copal 0. That's a big plus, it's basically a standard modern-ish shutter, and easily maintained.

One nice thing about the f/8 75mm Super-Angulon is that it takes 49mm filters, smaller than any of the modern 75s. It allows me to step up to 52mm, the size upon which I've standardized for my "walking around" lenses. Coverage is tighter on 4x5 than the bigger faster WAs, so it's not well suited for architectural work, and I've found it to be a little softer in the corners, but it's hard to argue with the size and, especially, the price.

Seems like a great price for a nice wide angle. I wish I could spring for it (cash wise). Would you take trades? I have a Nikon 35mm 1.8 DX I'm thinking of parting with.

That's the Copal 0 shutter as Steve says, the lens I've never seen a Copal 00 it was a Compr and Prontor size. It's an excellent price, mine's very sharp in the corners I use it as the standard lens for 6x17.

Thank you for all the excellent information. It is of course a Copal O - when looking at the shutter front it says COPAL NO.0 and my eyes picked this up as 00. Sorry for any misunderstanding.

Simon, I'm interested in the lens, send me an PM if you would be willing to ship overseas (Germany). John
