This is one of the sharpest lenses you will ever know. Not too much else even comes close to it. Legendary amongst large format photographers, the 210mm f5.6 Super Symmar XL 100 degree Aspheric MC is a work of art in itself. Built with quality and to stand the test of time. Optics are clean and clear with no fungus, haze or scratches. No front or rear cleaning marks, as can sometimes occur. Barrel of lens shows little signs of use. The lens does suffer from the typical "Schnieideritis" that you see in just about all of these (so common it has it's own terminology). It is caused by tiny little holes/oxidation in the paint used on the sides and inside rear of the element. They absolutely in no way impact your images as they are not in the focal plane. They are well known and documented as being cosmetic only. People are sometimes weary of the look as the reflections can make them seem like there is an issue with the glass as when you shine a light inside these can look like rings of haze or something of the sort (from the front only), but they are simply shadows and reflections of the tiny dots, they do not impact the focal plane. When viewed from the rear of the lens they are not visible. Anyway, if you know anything about these lenses then I don't need to waste anymore time explaining as you are well aware already. The lens has been babied from day one as is evident by its condition. It will arrive double boxed and super securely packed as it should be, it's not a light lens! I do hope someone will enjoy it and get some great use out of it. I'm transitioning to purely 35mm format (and a little medium format) just don't have the room for the bigger equipment any longer. Includes front and rear caps, aperture blades are clean, and shutter timing is spot on. Really a gem.Asking $4500 or b/o
