FOR SALE: Daguerreian Petzval Lens by G. Knight & Co. of London. Lens in half plate size with original cap (no flange). George Knight was a maker of Daguerreian equipment starting in the 1840s until about 1862. Based on the inscription and address on this lens, it can only date to 1855-61. The serial # is 515. Glass is in good condition and generally clear, however there is a very slight haze to the front group and there are a few minor scrapes to the glass. Nothing terrible but visible. Given this lens has survived 160 years, its in good overall condition. Back focus 6", focal length 8". Will easily cover 5x7...
