FS: Theory of the Photographic Process by T. H. James 1977 4th Edition
This is the Rosetta Stone or Bible of photographic science, the 4th and in all likelihood the last edition that will ever be published. I am certain a copy was available to every photographic researcher at Kodak, Fuji, Agfa, Konica, Lucky, and Ilford. If a photo researcher only had one photo science book this is the one to have.
I have been told it was privately translated into Russian and Japanese. It is written by about 50 Kodak scientists and contains the work of several thousand other researchers. Twenty-three Chapters. Fully annotated, thousands of footnote references. I abbreviated some of the chapter names:

4. Latent Image
5. Chemical Sensitization
6. Latent Image as influenced by Exposure and Development
7. Latent Image of Reversal
8. Sensitizing Dyes
9. Dyes on AgX

714 pages 9x11 inches.
Dust jacket has several tears on the edges. Binding is tight. This copy was owned by the man that was the head of Ektachrome Film Product Development until he retired about 2005. His name is inside the front cover. No tears or writing in the book. I love this book, have two copies, I am keeping one.
