Here's a front mounted 3 inch #5 Packard Shutter.

Will fit any of my recent Wollaston lenses having a 72mm front thread.
(or any other lens capable of accepting a Cokin "P" ring).

This is a factory-new 3 inch #5 Packard Shutter on a thin, rigid plate with a Cokin style mount.

"Instant" mode (a quick squeeze and release) is about 1/20 second.
A single continual squeeze holds the shutter open for at about 90 seconds.
For times longer than about 2 minutes, a second squeeze & release closes the shutter.

See the shutter in operation here:

The shutter, mounting plate, a 72mm flange ring, bulb, and rubber tube is $ 265 + shipping.

Are you using a lens without filter threads (old brass Petzval's, for example)?
Looking for a simple way to mount the Packard shutter?
Could I interest you in a set screw "collar" adapter?
Three nylon set screws secure it to lens barrels from 34mm, up to 70mm (1-3/8 to 2-3/4") diameter.
A standard Cokin P adapter ring is bonded to the collar.
The Packard shutter attaches to the Cokin ring as shown in my video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9uqQmzlRMRI

The Collar style adapter is $29 if ordered with a shutter. ($39 if ordered separately).
Need something bigger?
I can probably do it.
Just ask.

This larger Collar clamps 50 to 80mm diameter lens barrels.
Nylon screws won't mark your lens barrel.
The inner diameter of a Cokin P ring is 77mm, but the collar itself is 81mm I.D.
A three inch Packard shutter is the largest practical size with the Cokin P system.
The shutter attaches to the collar in the same manner as shown in my video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9uqQmzlRMRI

This larger 80mm collar is $37 if ordered with a shutter ($47 if ordered separately).
Need something even bigger?
Contact me with your specifics.

As others have noted, the collar requires some form of light seal around the lens.
One look at the photographs should make that self-evident.
Color me inept for not showing that in a photograph.

A length of self-adhesive black foam "weather strip" is included with each collar.
Preferably, the foam is to be installed to the inner perimeter of the collar rather than to the lens barrel.
I have several thicknesses of foam, depending on the lens diameter.
