hello everybody!
I just graduated from an art school/although my majo was sculpture , I use diff media in my work..such as video, sound, performance&installation and PHOTO...and I so much love the darkroom too...I was quite happy to discover this site..and I am getting exciting about getting in touch w other photographersI am thinking about travlling for a while to mexico/mexico city..any advice/i would like to find an art school there and take a photo class..so i can have access to a darkroom
any ideas/advice are welcome...
anybody interested in collaboration?

collaborations - hmmm

I always wondered how photographers may do that ... - a friend and I are making movies together but with stills have not found any real way to that aside from driving out to the same area to take landscapes - I came to end up being interested in cinematography as it is as fusion of all the things I and it turns out you find interesting (ie. sound, performance&installation and PHOTO)

However, I guess I'm kinda traditional when it comes to stills - no installation involved, just process and present ...

tho! welcome to APUG - if your experience here is anything like mine, you will learn a heap load more about photography that you didn't know existed and also get addicted to trying every format there is - next up for me is ULF, just gotta bite the bullet and order the film

Mexico huh ? where are you from/located now ? USA ? another thing thing about this site is that it is very international - you will find lots of advice from different perspectives and backgrounds so the forums make for an interesting daily scan

Welcome,

You'll find lots of great information and advice here.

Like the name -- illusion art. Should we expect lots of Jerry Uelsmann type work?

Welcome Maya. Like you, I started out a sculptor, abstrct wood constructions, but ended up using photography as my artist poison of choice.
This is a great place to be and learn and share.

Jose Martinez lives in Mexico City, he might be able to help you if you are going there. I live in Queretaro which is 2 hours NW of Mexico City. I know of a place that rents darkroom space in Queretaro so you wont have to take a class. Feel free to PM if you want more information.
