Freestyle OHP Transparency Film

Hello Everyone,

I've recently been told by an individual that the Freestyle OHP Transparency Film may be a good substitute for Pictorico OHP transparency media.

Can anyone verify this?

The price for the Arista II product is certainly very good if this true.

Sizes range from 8.5x11 in. to 17x22 in.

Has anyone tried this with the HP B9180, or have a recommendation for another kind of OHP film that works with this printer?

Out of curiosity, I thought I'd try and make a digital neg just using some OHP film I had on hand and have used successfully in the past with my old laser printer for making OHP transparencies, and it was a disaster. The tones looked about right, but the neg was a blurry runny mess.

Sounds like you need to control the amount of ink deposition. QTR will allow you to do that.

I know Sandy King has used Pictorico OHP successfully with this printer and I would bet that the Freestyle product will work just fine as well since it is a "drop in" replacement for Pictorico OHP.

When I consume my stash of OHP I'll be switching to the Freestyle product.

Wow, definitely a welcome addition to the DN arena. I for one have used Pictorico White-Film (whatever the code is) to print portraits from DN's with impressive results. Portraits tend to be very unforgiving.

I picked up a batch of white film made by Inkpress. I've yet to try it but will certainly post results for others to read. Personally, I think both Pictorico & Inkpress are highly overpriced. This new brand from Freestyle, though slightly less expensive, is still exaggerated, and IMHO, priced as such only to make its entry into the DN media arena.
