That may have been it. IIRC, Kodak, and likely others, "discontinue"
on change of name. SO, Kodak makes A fb graded paper and that One
is contact speed. They make one fb projection speed and that
one is a DW VC.
It may be a good thing Kodak has abandoned the fb graded market.
Market demand for those products is now less thinly spread. Dan
I received a very nice call from the very nice, intelligent and beauitful lead of the telephone marketing dept at Freestyle today to update me on some backordered products. In the conversation, she mentioned that she read this thread;>) and wanted to update me on what they're carrying of Ilford Gallerie. Apparently, it is Ilford that is cutting back a lot on Gallerie. They will no longer make matte surface or sizes over 11x14! No more 16x20 Gallerie, yikes. Glad I have a small stock of it at home.
Anyone with Ilford ties able to comment on Ilfords moves regarding Gallerie?
I hope that the information that you received from Freestyle will help. The can't carry products that the mfg stops making. And prices will go up on new stock coming in because of new higher costs. The market is very odd these days and it needs to settle down. Freestyle is not droping products that they can get just the ones the one that mfgs stop making or selling to them. Bergger will be back in stock when they gey new product and the price? might? be higher? I have been working closely whit them on new products and the future is looking good for B&W film and paper. Freestyle is very commited to traditional camera and darkroom products from large format to 35mm.
Things to look for new roll and sheet film to replace currant product lines as they run out. And the same with new paper lines.
If you or any one has questions, you can e-mail me or any of the staff at Freestyle. You will fine me under the Advisory board heading.

About six months ago the Ilford importer in Mexico stops business with the English manufacturer. They put the whole stock left on sale, and I bought what I could of the paper I like more, Ilford Multigrade IV fiber and Gallerie. Something alike happens when Seagull went out of business.
Does anybody can tell me what is the shelf life for this kind of paper?, I want to know if it's a wise thing to have a large stock of fiber based gelatin-silver papers, I have the felling that is an "endangered specie"
