but yeah I got a free RB on Craigslist, and a Minolta X700! Comes with 90 3.8, Polaroid back, 120 back and WLF. Seals are shot though I don't know if I even want to run a test roll LOL

In retrospect the seals on the back aren't THAT bad but they are starting to disintegrate which means I will need to replace them at some point.

I can't believe how cheap the lenses are though, I can build a holy trinity for nothing. How does the 180 look on 6x7 is it close to 100 or 85? Haven't decided on a wide I want the 50 but I hear it distorts pretty bad

Divide by half for 35mm approximation.

105 f/2.4 = 50mm-ish f1.1

Mine has not had a service in 30 years...
But you need to start cutting up mouse mat or buy in a kit for light seals.
The 140 mm macro is a nice all round lens

the body itself didn't look too bad but the seals on the 120 back has seen better days

John Goodman has the seals. I bought them for my RB67's when I got them. There are 3 seal kits you will need if you want to reseal the everything. One for the mirror, another for the rotating back, and a third for the film back. If you have more than one film back, you will have to purchase a kit for each back you wish to reseal. It's a pretty straight forward task to do the seals, just time consuming depending on how easy the seals come off.

I have a repairer who will charge me a lot less to re-seal a camera if I go through the grotty part myself - removing the old seals and cleaning the residue!

That being said, Jon Goodman's seal kits work really well.

By the way, which version did you get - RB67 Pro, RB67 Pro-S orRB67 Pro-SD?

I never did post back about the seals, yes I did use Mr. Goodman's kit and this week I will know if it's light-tight. Was straightforward but time-consuming, my line of work dealing with small parts made it easier though.

It's a Pro-S.....and since I posted this thread it has grown almost into a full system! I'm finally on the cusp of owning my dream camera that I wanted when I first got into photography, a Pro-S RB67 with the Holy Trinity 50/90/180 and all the fixins.....I'm a left grip, 6x8 motor drive and metered prism from realizing that dream. I recently acquired two more backs, a 120 and 220, and plan to add two more 120 backs.

And I thought I had too many backs.. (I have five 120+ 2polaroid, one keeps conking out)

Have you replaced seals on all the backs as well - and are you buying the pro-sd backs?

I suppose with all that gear, you probably stow them in your studio and dont move it much?

Get SD backs, they don't need light seals.

Also, how do you find the 6x8 back? I keep thinking I should buy one then stop at the last minute thinking one less shot per roll for a bit more neg space in portrait orientation only...

No studio....this system fits in a case and is used in the field
