This is a homemade plywood sink that fits over a standard tub. I used it years ago when I had a smaller house and needed to set up and take down my makeshift darkroom for each printing session. It served me well for years, but it's been in storage for years; I now have a dedicated darkroom and don't need it.

It sits on pipe legs that have rubber suction cups on the bottom. There are long and short legs so you can set it up so it drains well. There is a drain-to-garden hose adapter that's not shown. It needs a coat of paint, but is still 100% serviceable. Easy set-up and take-down.

Free local pick-up only, or I can deliver if you're not too far from me (I'm in Eugene, OR, the sink is in Redmond, OR).

PM me here if interested.

Best,

Doremus

I used a darkroom sink made like this in a professional's studio for years and it was outstanding.

It was wide like this and six feet or so, on a wooden stand with a shelve below and an angled shelve on one end, with sides and top end barrier for a washing tray.

Epoxy paint works great and I hope some takes this one and with a little effort, makes it a great standalone sink, in a darkroom space with running water.

It'll be great for years and, if I had such a space, instead of a small, dry bedroom and my fairly small ABS darkroom SINK, with a deep well.

About the only thing better, IMO, might be a Stainless Steel sink of the same dimensions, but those are noisey and no as nice to lean against as a wooden sink is, especially for hours long printing and film development.

IMO, someone can really make this a great sink, in a bathroom or any other darkroom space, tweaks or no.

Eli,

Thanks for the glowing review! I used this sink for a number of years and it performed wonderfully, as you describe.

Yes, I think one could make legs and shelves for this as well. Just to add to the description, the sink is painted with marine bottom paint, bright white, but it has yellowed a bit plus I've touched it up a bit and there are some pyro stains. Still, a quick sanding job and a coat of new marine paint and it would be like new.

Best,

Doremus

I’ve got a few plastic sinks I’ve made. Never made a wood one... but man is that cool with the suction cup legs and all. Good luck finding it a home.

I'd really like to pass this along to someone who will use it. No bites yet though...

Novel,

The thing is as big as a bathtub, except for being four inches deep and weighs a lot (3/4-inch plywood). I really doubt you'd want to pay shipping to Toronto, it would be several hundred dollars...

Still, if you like, I can weigh the thing and look into it. It would have to go freight; I doubt that the normal parcel companies ship items that large.

Let me know,

Doremus
