Local camera shop gave me this, body is EX and the lens was UG......but I gave it a good CLA cleaned up all the fungus and its good as new. Body even had a battery in it and everything.

What is THE quintessential period trifecta for Minolta MD mount? I got a standard obviously, I want a wide and a portrait, and maybe something 200mm or longer.

No 3rd party I got a bunch of that for Nikon though very nice mostly, I want period MD stuff since most of it is very affordable and easy to find

"THE" quintessential 3-lens Minolta MC/MD line-up is a bit subjective to be honest... If you want to spend all yer pennies, well for:

wide angle;
MD W Rokkor-X 24mm f2.8 or
MC VFC 24mm f2.8 or
MD W Rokkor-X 28mm f2.0 or
Shift CA Rokkor 35mm f2.8
MD W Rokkor-X 35mm f1.8 or
MD W Rokkor-X 35mm f2.8

portrait;
MC Rokkor-X 85mm f1.7 or
VARISOFT 85mm f2.8 or
MD Rokkor-X 85mm f1.7 or
MD Rokkor 135mm f2.0 or
MC Rokkor-X 100mm f2.0

Among these you will find, i think, general agreement these represent the finest in the Minolta SR lens mount line-up for your requested applications.

I didn't add in a "normal" lens recommendation b/c the OP already has one in the 58mm f1.4 (which is no slouch in it's own right - I have one and really like how it resolves b&w tonality).

Next we'll see if this is an abandoned thread or not....

Lucky dude

First you brag about the super deal on a pair of RB67 with full complement of lens. Now you are gifted a SRT 101. No sense in your playing the lottery. You have used up your share of luck. Did you get the RBs by the way?

I did score another lens freebie, a 45/2 pancake
