Not worth the trip or the shipping. Cameras haven't been used for 50 years, have been baking in hot sun, now covered in cosmic dust, and lubricants dried out. Also: as-is and no warranty. Does not have film back.

Who knows how cameras were treated. Astronauts could've removed film back and tossed cameras like football.

I suggest KEH instead.

Over here there is meanwhile some controversy on stuff by the owner deliberately put on the curb for the waste collection. Meanwhile some municipalities argue that the moment the stuff is placed on the curb ownership has changed to the municipality and the stuff must not be picked by anybody.
This weird argumentation one may apply on the Moon too...

As for ownership, I'm astonished that artifacts from the U. S. space program are being auctioned off. To me, such items should always be the property of the U. S. Government and not be for sale.

A few weeks ago, I’ve read an article about a guy who purchased a lot at a NASA surplus auction in the mid 70’s. He acquired 1250 reels for 217$, hoping to make money selling them to T.V stations. Among the lot he found the original footage of the Apollo 11 moon landing. They’re going to be auctioned at Sothebys this month for the 50th anniversary of the moon landing.

In that case, I wouldn't go to the Moon for a Hasselblad missing critical parts I'd need on Earth. These lunar Hasselblads are not a bargain, even if free!

Why does the magazine say to remove the darkslide before installing (attaching?). On every Hasselblad I've ever used, the darkslide needs to be in place before attachment or removal.
