Hello:

I have to move out and dismantle my darkroom, which gives me great sadness. My chemistry is going into storage for probably a year, which is fine except for the notoriously short-life glycin. Are there any Ansco 130 lovers in the south UK who are printing a lot?

It's nearly a pound of glycin from Photographer's Formulary in the US. I received it in October last year, and it remained sealed in the freezer until December. It was in a cool (55 F) basement darkroom after that. If I put it back in the freezer now, hopefully it will remain fresh enough until summer.

Let me know!

Jarin

I've had good results with that brand glycine, lasting several years, double insolated in freezers.

Usual I'll leave it in the original container and seal it in a freezer bag, which then goes inside, a large plastic peanut butter jar.

If you can afford the hit, of just buying new, go for it, but if it's something you're curious about, test it for yourself and repost back once you've reestablished your darkroom.
