FREE FILTERS!

I had to pop into Vanbar last week to order some raw chem and on my way out I noticed a big bucket by the door...

Do you remember how they had those big bins full of $5 filters at their Nth Melbourne store? Well, they're all at the new store, in a bin, just waiting to walk out the door. I had a quick rummage, but couldn't easily see anything in 67mm, so I didn't look any further. Had to mention it here though, just in case.

Thanks Steve. When I last saw them in North Melbourne they were being sold by the kilo... There was nothing I could use back then, but I will make the track in to Vanbar Saturday to see what is about.

Hope you find something useful, this bin is definitely only a fraction of what was at Nth Melb. Must be the absolute dregs.

...it's a shame they can't even give them away, I have been sorting through all my gear this week preparing to sell off all the surplus, and that includes a LOT of filters!

I guess I should probably start a new thread in the classifieds, but while the conversation is here... here's a quick list from a preliminary sorting:
46mm-UV
49mm-80B, 82A, two (Photape brand) Vario-Color's, Red-Blue with a polarizer, Red-Green. Did anyone make these in Red-Yellow? I might actually find one of those useful!
52mm-81A, FL-D
55mm-81C
58mm-80C, 85A, 85B, 85C
77mm-81A
Set of three screw mount extension tubes

There's plenty more which are sitting in the "These may come in handy one day" pile, so I'll hang on to them for a bit longer. Mostly your regular ones (UV, C/PL, Y, O, R etc) in sizes for lenses I don't have anymore. Let me know if there's anything you want Andy, before they hit the great auction site in the sky!

I had a look in the free bin this morning.

Seems to be a heap of 49mm and 62mm. Not much else.

Couldn't be bother digging too deep, though. Too busy suffering the goose behind the counter who tried to sell my girlfriend a Gitzo CF tripod without even asking what camera it was for.

Pity Lachie wasn't working...

Thanks for the offer Steve, there is nothing I need. I have in the back of my mind R, O & Y in various sizes for my B&W photos as well as polarising filters, but have not given it a whole lot of thought.
