Well, it would be free if someone picked it up and had no idea where it came from. Go to the north end of Leach Lake in Jasper National Park to the small turnoff. It is the last place I saw my lens 3 days ago. Opened up my pack when I got home to clean things up, and no 210mm!! I just purchased it too, and had maybe 3 or 4 images with it. I could just kick myself - I remember looking around where I was shooting after packing up and there was nothing on the ground that I could see. It was packed in a small Pentax lens case. I know the chances are minute, but if by chance you've picked it up, please let me know and I can cover shipping+ for the effort.

I left a 35mm wideangle lens in the snow at Valle de los Caidos in Spain, 1976. It fell from my case and I didn't hear it hit the snow.

On the very first day I used it, a 135mm lens for my P67 went missing because someone stole it, or because I left it on the ground when I packed up the rest of my stuff, I've never been sure. Does it always happen when they're new to us before we've bonded with them? Whatever....it's an unforgettable experience. Sorry it happened to you too!

Hey Collin, I'm very sorry to hear about that. I know exactly how you feel. Same thing happened to me in '78 dude, when I was at a Boston concert in Maple Leaf Gardens. Lost my tele-extender for the Nikkormat. It was hard to see with all of the smoke in the air. ;~) I'm still convinced those would have been some totally awsome rock pics, even if I was up in the rafters,...where's my matches man??#!?

FWIW, I am sure you have probably contacted the Parks and Recreation people already but I left a pair of Nikon binoculars at the Sonoran Desert Museum in AZ. Went back a couple of days later and retrieved them from Lost and Found. There are a lot of nice folks out there that will turn items in to L and F.

Thanks for the concerns everyone. It is a real longshot Fred, but yes I have contacted just about everyone I could think of just in case.
I recall a friend of the family who had received a gold watch as a reward only to lose it working on some farm machinery. He found it the following spring as he worked his field and saw a glint of sun in the field. He wound it up and all was well again.
