I was wondering where you get your mounting supplies in the UK?
As I was looking for some black core mounting boards, I found this website: http://www.diyframing.com/
I wondered if anybody had used them already? If not, who are your UK suppliers?
I switched from Lion to wessex pictures. They have a range of branches around the country, not just in Wessex! Being able to pick up mount board myself has saved having to send back mount board damaged in transit. Whilst no fault of Lion themselves, it adds hassle to dealing with orders.
Wessex also have a framing set-up called Wessex fine art. They make up my big frames and I am really pleased with quality and price.
Last night I was looking for some pre-cut bevelled mounts and found these people: http://www.cartersmounts.co.uk/. They appear to do just what I'm looking for and at very reasonable prices - has anyone any experience of using them?
I should add I too have used Lion and always received good service from them; their chop service for aluminium frames is especially useful.
I've used Carters and found them very good, as expressed elsewhere in the thread the only problem is if the courier drops the package on a corner, mind you most of the time I have found if they are going in a frame the damage is not visible but if you are sleeve-ing up prints for browsing then you might lose a few

Yes it does - thanks. Given their carriage charge and the fact that they're only 40 miles away I could obviate that possible problem by collecting the order - and have a nice day in the Lakes into the bargain
I've also used http://www.cotswoldmounts.co.uk/ in the past and found them very good if not a little cheaper than Carters (maybe not if you can collect yourself). May be worth taking a look, you can never have too many options.
