I have a collection of wooden frames which normally reside in a centrally heated room.

How much damage (warping/ cracking) may be caused to the frames if they are moved to a non-heated storage room?

In my experience, it's not the temperature that makes a difference in what the wood does, but the humidity. If the cold room is damp, you'll get movement in the wooden parts of the frame. They may warp or swell slightly, causing even more problems when thsy are returned to a dry environment. Cold, in itself, doesn't seem to change much.
