Since most alt process printing is UV printing and since most pyro developers mask UV, pyro will give you greater effective film density. Since cyanotype is a high contrast (relative to most other alt processes) printing method, I would develop for normal print times that you would use for regular enlarger printing. Do not do anything to increase the base fog (like the Hutchings post soak) this would be counter productive and even he no longer recommends it. For other alt processes, I (and many others) go for more overall density (1.5 times normal?). A CI of 1.6 or more is good for Kalitype and VanDyke.
