I am about to mix up a batch of FX-2 and this weekend I'll be out shooting some FP4+ to soup in it.
In the Film Development Cookbook Anchell states it can be shot @200EI because thats the true speed when developed in FX-2. So I searched TMDC and found times for FP4+ @64EI but none @200EI. Somebody shooting FP4+ and developing in FX-2 ? EIs and times Pleeeease.
Regards Søren
EI close to 200. I've mostly ignored that when shooting LF and just used 100.
I have developed my LFs by inspection, so I don't know the time. The few rollfilms I've developed in FX-2 have been exposed under wildly varying conditions, so I've used 90 minutes stand development in half-strength developer: Agitate first 30 seconds, then twice after 30 minutes, then leave until the end. Works like a dream!
Thanks Ole. But that leads to another question, ammount/volume. How much is needed for normal and stand development. Anchell says 0.5 and 1L but thats on the save side.
Regards Søren
Let's see... I've developed 16 sheets of 5x7" film in ½liter (four at a time), but it was beginning to take a very long time at the end there. Stand development I did with about 600-700ml, both for 120 film in paterson tank and 9x12cm in a "Johnson Cutplate" tank.
So I'd recommend using sufficient developer as with inversion tanks, even with rotary systems. You should be able to get away with (a lot) less, but may need to adjust the times for that.
Thanks Ole
Ill shoot some FP4+ this weekend and mix the dev monday(hopefully, if time allows)
and should be able to soup the film(s) tuesday.
Cheers Søren
