Anyone familiar with this phenomenon? In the highlights of the lamps the film turns into deep blue...

Looks like something vaguely resembling the Sabatier effect to me…

I've never had an issue like that. Which camera are you using?

I have seen that with Instax films, but never with FP-100C. My guess is that it is solarization, caused by the (assumed) long exposure to the bright lights.

It was shot with a Mamiya Universal, 100mm 2.8 lens. Exposure of 1 second. Thank you for the response, I think I will try to avoid these cirumstances in the future.

Nevertheless I would not expect solarisation to happen with modern materials!
(Lomography fun-films aside.)

I found this effect in photos of fireworks - and it was explained here on APUG (thanks Akki14 and Photo Engineer!). Then I used it as a planned effect during a solar eclipse:
In the gallery (there was a url link here which no longer exists) but I add it here for non-subscribers:

At least the effect is not as annoying as in that candelabra.

Funny, some of the early run of the new BMC camera (Black Magic Cinema) had that effect with hot spots. Digital version I suppose.
