I use Paterson Super System 4 tanks for most (all?) of my roll processing (haven't shot 16mm in a while, and haven't found my homemade tank yet since setting up my darkroom). I started off with a 2-reel (2x35mm or 1x120, really) and recently bought a 3-reel size (holds 3x35mm or 2x120), new in box, which did not include any reels. Problem is, I only have two actual reels, so while I can now process four 120 rolls at a time (by loading two on each reel, one after the other), I can only handle two 35mm at a time.

On eBay, I can buy reels all day at $18-$25 shipped -- genuine Paterson, Universal, or Unicolor brand, all of which (as I understand it) are compatible. I'm interested in buying three reels (so I can load one set while the others dry, for those days when I have a lot of film to develop), any brand that will fit my tanks, reasonably clean and working (ratchet action and size adjustment a must), and willing to pay $40, net to seller, including shipping. Any takers?

Elsewhere I'm selling a Jessop's Universal Duo tank for £12 (roughly $16). It's actually a Paterson System 4 tank branded for Jesop's after they switched to the Super System 4

Postage may be too much to the US :smile:

AP reels for example are 100% compatible. And I prefer those reels myself for 120 film, much easier to load.

@Ian Grant I agree, shipping from UK is likely to exceed my limit. And I don't need a tank, just three more reels for the tanks I have.

@vedostuu Are you selling some?

Hello Donald,
I've got four reels & I prefer steel so If you buy the reels the tanks can go to the Salvation Army.
Would thirty US bucks work for you? Shipped.
John

Yep, hence my figure of $40 shipped. Why pay more for used than new?

The wide ramps on those brands are nice, but I've done enough 120 recently to get my hand back in at starting the film into the reel with the original Paterson plates.

And I've got my reels, paid, wrapped, and will ship on Monday. Thanks for all the interest!
