Hopefully this is an easy one - working my way through a box of B&W film I need to develop, and found this at the bottom. Not something I usually shoot, and not really sure what it is. Anyone?

Seems like a bad plan to not put the film name on the paper ... how the heck am I supposed to know how to develop this stuff ...

Looks like kodak something. Similar design scheme to my TMY2 film, but that is labeled on one end. You could potentially respool it backwards in the darkroom so the leader is at the end; it might say there.

That's an interesting idea. I could actually just spool it and put into a tank, then take a look at the whole paper.

I don't shoot much Ilford film, but I recall a thread some time ago where Simon Galley asked whether photographers would accept Ilford film that had generic backing paper. Could it be something mildly esoteric like SFX? Maybe some of the regular Ilford shooters could chime in on this?

Definitely not SFX, but could be FP4+ / HP5+ maybe.

It looks exactly like my TMAX 400.
If the tapered flap is not folded over it practically covers the part that says 'NEW 400TMY-2'.
All the Ilford used spools of 120 I can find have black backing paper.

Can you turn it round a bit?
Can you carefully unseal it and unroll it a little bit to see what it says under the flap?

+1 it definitely looks (type font, colour) like Kodak TMY.
