Hi everyone,

After looking for quite a while for a 6x12 camera that could take a good lens, I found a Fotoman 612 on Ebay, and separately purchased a Fuji 90mm f8 SW lens. The kind folks at Nippon Photo Clinic in New York put it together for me (for almost no cost at all - they are great guys). I've used it one time and everything looks fine, but I am wondering if anyone has tried these cameras with Ilford 3200? Will there be too much light coming through the red window? I haven't tried hand holding it yet, it was actually too heavy for the small tripod I put it on the first time.

By the way, I ordered the accessory rangefinder from Fotoman in China, and exchanged several emails with a friendly person named Sara there. Two days after I received it the landslide happened in Shenzhen. I emailed Sara back to ask if they were okay there and she told me that the people at Fotoman are all right, although she said that that the wife of one employee suffered minor injuries.

Small world we live in these days.

I use the Fotoman 612 cameras, they do a great job. The only way you're going to know about 3200 and light leaking is by testing it out.

Hi, thanks, I like mine very much as well. I just used it again today with some Portra 800 and was able to hand hold at 1/500 most of the time so I think I will go with that (or pushing 400 speed black and white) for the time being. I want to eventually be able to use it down near the ocean where a tripod would be problematic, so I am glad the hand holding seems practicable at this time. It seems like the best solution for me for 6x12 though I do like my Zero Image 612D pinhole that I recently purchased as well.
