The thread about the Gilde stereo camera revived an idea I had for modifying a Fotoman 617. So, before going any further, I thought I'd ask if Fotoman themselves had any plans for a stereo camera.

I asked Gaoersi as well. They also have plans, but they didn't go into detail or timescale.

Best,

Dear Helen,

Yeah, saw bits of it at the show. Check the Monochrom website also for their triple-lens reflex camera.

Cheers,

R.

Interesting stuff! Helen, are you a stereo shooter too? I've seen links to the Chinese camera on the stereo forums, but no reference to the Fotoman. Thanks for the link.

Hi Randy,

Yes, like yourself I do stereo with a Realist and with an SL 66 on a Jasper slide bar. I print stereocards. I've been doing chaotic stereo versions of my 'Garden Notebooks' with the slide bar setup. For obvious reasons I'd far rather have something like the Fotoman.

Helen

Thanks Roger. Which bits?

Here's a link to Monochrom and to the Chinese site they seem to come from.

Best,
Helen

Dear Helen,

Twin lens mount, with lenses, on cone. I asked what it was for and they were slightly evasive, saying much the same as they said to you. I didn't check the focal lengths; about 110mm, from the size of the cone.

Cheers,

R.

The link to the Chinese site doesn't work any more. Here is another one to try.

Please note that they offer a coin-operated 3D viewer, and they point out that this is an easy way to become rich. I'm going to install one outside the apartment, and expect to get rich quite quickly. I promise not to let it go to my head though.

Best,
Helen

Reading the downloaded manual, I note that the coin operated viewer incorporates a "fiction wheel."

The viewer apparently requires a 3 wire electrical plug connection.
