Format size and camera question.

Hi everyone

I recently sold my Rolleiflex TLR 3.5F to pay for new lenses for my Bolex H16 (my main area of work). But, of course am saddened at the loss of the Rollei! Can anyone recommend a medium format camera, that can move from 6x6 through 6x4.5, 6x7, that is fully manual )no electrics!? I use a hand held meter for all my work. With interchangeable lenses. Mamiya?

A Rolleiflex 3.5F of cause. Too sad you had to sell yours. It is indispensable.

Sounds like a case for Mamiya RB67! These are being closed out right now, for example
Dead Link Removed
and are also available in large numbers secondhand.

two cameras come to mind, allthough they ar not too easy to find:

Rittreck! here you can have a multi format cassette, that allows you to chose between 4.5x6 to 6x6 to 6x7 in the same cassette - and you can actually change format during one film.. if that makes sense..
then you can have a 6x9 cassette also.

interchangeble lenses (Muhashino, as far as I remember) or just buy some nice old lenses...(Dagor etc)

MAKIFLEX (Plaubel) huge camera with negative sizes as the Rittreck, but bigger, as you can turn the back, the Mamiya way..

extra plus: it is possible to put 4x5" cassettes on the back!! then you'll have a fantastic 9x9 cm negative with round corners!! (as far as I know, the only camera doing this).

also fit for Polaroid back, with allmost full negative.

as said: huge (and ugly), but a fantastic tool!!

The Mamyia RB67 is the most readily available, relatively modestly priced (used) camera that fits your request. It is a roll film SLR with interchangeable lens, interchangeable film backs and interchangeble focusing screens and viewing hoods or prisms. It is purely mechanical, with each lens having it's own mechanical leaf-shutter. There are film backs (as well as polaroid back) available in all the formats you wish, and the backs are rotatable on the camera for vertical or horizontal images. You can change film backs mid-roll if you wish. You can add an eye-level prism or a metering hood if you wish. The camera has a built-in bellows, thus allowing you a bit closer focusing than many medium-format cameras without accessories. There is a wide range of moderately priced Mamiya lenses available for this camera, and they are all good performers. These were/are hugely popular cameras and there are plenty for sale on the used market.

And don't forget, you can drop a 2x3 Graphmatic on it if the urge hits you to shoot sheet film.

You could try a Graflex XL or Crown Graphic 2 1/4 x 3 1/4. You can put 6x6 , 6x7, 6x9 roll film backs on it not to mention sheet film.

I know this feeling. I just got my sr-T101 back from the person I sold it to to finance my M645j setup. I missed it so. Note to self, never sell stuff to get more stuff, exhibit patience. (I know, quit snickering everybody. No, what's GAS?)

I would have to go with my Century Graphic. Interchangeable lenses and film backs, limited movements, ground glass and rangefinder focusing, 6X45, 6X6, 6X7, 6X9, and sheet film. Cheap now too.
