Getting old and my memory is getting bad. And it was always really bad for names.
Anyway, here are the hints:
He's American.
Shoots hasselblad.
Shoots trix and used to do plusx.
His photo feature a lot of symmetry/geometry.
The photos usually feature 1 or more men in black suits and bowler hats.
The photos are good.
Some are more interesting than others, but like I said, just not my style. Mostly the price surprises me, though. Good for him that he can get it--even today, photography is the neglected step child of the art world.
Nice. I've never seen his work before but I quite like this. I don't know about $7k like but I've found myself much more content since I let an artist's work and what it's worth remain separated in my mind. I'm glad he's making a living, it can be a tough gig these days.
Lord ain't that the truth. Just went to the Sugimoto retrospective of sorts at the Getty and it rekindled my passion to own a copy of Theaters. . . not in the foreseeable future let alone anything from Dioramas or the Seascapes. One day maybe if I'm lucky - his prints are something to behold.
