Force of gas spring of Dunco masking easel

I use this enlarging easel. Can anyone tell me the force in Newton of the gas spring that keeps it up? On mine the sticker with details is missing Thx

I replaced the gas spring on my Dunco (max paper size 30x40) a few years back. The new spring has a coding written on it: W06 ZBP 0050. This makes me think it is a 50 Newton spring. That is working OK but I would recommend something stronger. This spring does fine when the frame is all the way up but when printing smaller formats the enlarger head may get in the way and you cannot open the frame all the way up. My spring is not strong enough then, the frame falls down. So if this is indeed a 50 Newton spring I would recommend something like 70 to 100 Newton.

Dunco is still in business, so i just ordered some springs... ;-)

The specification was noted on the invoice.

The same model: 85/4 Pro.
I'm using the 90/6 Pro too (50x70cm). The spring for this model is 155N.

The price of the original spring is cheaper than any comparable spring i found on the net.
Unfortunately there is a minimal amount order of 70€ (without VAT) if you order directly, so you have to buy three springs (each around 24€ + VAT) at once...

The easies way should be to measure it, if it can be compressed to final arrest, which then would give the nominal force. However next to the final compressing force also the dynamical force cames into play. This is dependent on the internal damping feature, which degree may vary.

One german retailer lets one calculate the needed spring based on mechanical type of set-up, weight and dimensions. (But already is ambiguous on what is meant by weight...)

This is (unfortunately) by far more expensive (if you mean Gasfedershop.de) than ordering the original spring directly at Dunco.

I know this is an old thread but I need to get some parts for my Dunco Easel; a new spring and two of my blade locking housings have cracked that I'd love to replace. Tried reaching out to Dunco a few weeks back but no reply. Do you happen to have a contact for where you ordered the spare parts?
